A Day at the Park

Here's Allison, at almost 7 months, making her first real attempts to join in the dinner conversation! I suppose she will always be in the shadow of her 'big' sister. Literally. Actually, I think she was trying out for 'The Godfather'. Enjoy!

Two years old!

Yes, our little baby just turned two on March 6, 2008! What happened? She's talking NON-stop and loving on her little sister (when she's not taking those oh-so-irresistable baby toys from Allison). She ALWAYS has to ask us what we are doing, even though she KNOWS, and will correct us if we're wrong. "I'm washing a pot," I say. "It's a pan, not a pot!" she says. She, of course, always wants us to ask her in return what she is doing. She is hoot at the store, commenting on everything and everyone that we see. The best time is when she spins herself around and around and around...and stops. "I'm gettin' busy," she says as she staggers (hopefully) to something without corners or edges. Hilarious. Anyway, here she is a few weeks ago, blowing out her candles, and well, just being two years old.

Sitting pretty

Big strides for Allison...turning 6 months on February 31st (right???) ;) she now has 2 teeth, is sitting up, can 'loosely' sign 'all done', has started veggies, sippy cup and cheerios (got the fifth or sixth one in all by herself!) and is now moving about the living room ever so slowly...backwards! She gets those little meaty arms down on the ground and then...PUSH! There she goes...poor little girl is so frustrated...in time, my little determined one! Couldn't help but take a few pics of the wee one at Rachel's 2nd birthday while the star was getting dressed by daddy...here's Allison first sitting up a few weeks ago...

Snow Day!

Rachel, Matt, and I constructed our first official snowman together this past weekend! (Well, Matt did most of the work!) I can't believe how much snow there was. I think the total accumulation was around 16" here in Kenosha. Unfortunately, Allison was stuck inside, napping--what a chore!. (Don't worry, we had the monitor with us.) But she does like to read in her spare time. (Click on Rachel's hot pink, freecycled snowpants to see!)

Happy, Happy, Squeal, Squeal (and a little bit of drool)...

Rachel is NOT the only show in town! Our little Allison is beginning to find her voice! She is learning real fast how to compete with the 'talker' of the house (or should I say speaker of the house? nah...). We enjoy listening to this beautiful sound, except when she should be napping or going back to sleep after her 2am feed!

A star is born?

So, our oldest, Rachel, has gotten into this thing where she has to sing rock-a-bye to everybody in our family and extended family and so on before going to bed (it's all about setting limits, right parents?). For some reason, she decided that since at the end of the song the cradle falls down, you MUST bonk your head (it's all about bonking your head, right toddlers?). Although it's not too clear, that's exactly what she's trying to convey in her rendition to 'Kitty'. And then one more attempt to try to cajole a different song out of her.

Merry Christmas?

So...we've finally gotten our Christmas letter done...and it's going out this weekend! Yay! I tell you...next year...no letter...maybe not even a picture??? How about just an 'empty' envelope, or a blank email...our Christmas 'hug' to you! Ok, just kidding. Once you start a letter, you have to keep writing them. Cuz people want to know.
